My relatives everywhere,
Please join us in an act of imagination:
A baby was born in July of 1776. Sadly the doctors checked the child out and found out that it had terminal cancer. The very cancer of genocide, slavery, eco-cide, and imperialism. The child would grow at the expense of nature, women, and people in general. Through its history the cancer would re-metastasize.
There would be noble movements dedicated to social change. environmental health, but they would all fail in varying degrees because the cancer was never confronted.
When Obama got elected in November '08, the disease seemed to be in remission. but it was a false remission indeed. And some of us knew that in 2010 it would re-matastasize with a vengeance.
Dear friends, it's time we faced the facts. We've lost and the corporatocracy has won, at least temporarily. The fascist is on the ascendant.
We would all love to dismiss this pathetic middle-aged failure from Alaska who failed as a governor and more generally failed as a human being. But in the name of facing our b.s., we better wrestle with the fact that Sarah Palin, as unbalanced, as evil and as hateful as she is, represents a society born with deformities and conceived in tragedy.
The Sarah Palin mentality began when Christopher Columbus, the great granddaddy of organized crime, set foot on the beach at Vohailla, to which he gave the clumsy name San Salvador. Just as one could've seen George Bush coming from that vantage point, one could see Sarah Palin coming from the same vantage point.
The father of the academic discipline American Studies is supposed to have said that the very existence of the US is a tragedy. At this juncture of our all too sad history he is being born out. My dear brother, friend and comrade, Dr. John Stokes, founder and director of the Tracking Project & a member of our organization, tells the following story: He was talking with an indigenous leader in Australia one day, many years ago, and he said, "Nate, the only difference between your society and ours is that we keep our rat-bags on the bottom." Such a comment should resonate for our Australian relatives, and should also resonate for us.
One thing the Left has never understood, and I doubt that we ever will, is that until we get rid of the alleged foundation of this society, we haven't a hope for reinventing it. People are stuck in it on both sides of the ideological spectrum, and until we confront them head-on, confirming their worse fears and more, until they either disappear or get the help that they need, there will be no basic solving of our most intractable problems.
Such as: our addiction to war, our exponential levels of personal violence, our broken health care system, and a population so loaded with bad food and drink that diabetes and its allies may reduce or eliminate our species altogether over the long haul.
My relatives I like to use the following bit of sarcasm to describe our situation:
you have all heard of forms of furniture called French provincial and Danish modern. How about American stupid?
We are a settler society and therein lies our tragedy. One of the aspects of Kalpulli Turtle Island Multiversity, will definitely be education, not only to prevent future Sarah Palins, but to prepare for future Frances Moore Lappés, & other great women. We are not gonna get this done by operating according to the Barak Obama school of how to get through life. The time for making nice is over.
Therefore, in my capactiy as founder and director of this organization, we're going to create something called the White Pine Circles. This will be more than a counter to the Tea Party Movement. People will gather to study and apply what Dr. Peter Blue Cloud calls "the hard old ways of grandfather."
In addition, I want to propose the creation of a multi-faceted people's lobby of no less than 150 million people. Children women and men in that order. We will cover every subject from environment to health care to women's issues and the rest. This lobby will be the living lever which will move society forward despite the best efforts of Mitch O'Connell, Sarah Palin and the rest. Since the Democrats are incapable of doing anything right, i am calling upon all of you to join us and help fill the vacuum.
There will be many more letters of this nature.
I should recommend that you carefully read the latest essay by our Culture Minister, Why People Hold Back their Potential. When you read these sentiments you will understand why I take pride in echoing the indigenous elders: young women are going to save the planet. Young Rebecca is a student of film and filmmaker. She needs to be taken seriously. Under our governing principles, one of our women members will replace me when the time comes.
Finally my relatives I need to address another matter: in our last correspondence, we called upon all of you to start emailing, calling and mailing the White House to demand the removal of Rahm Emanual and all the rest of the dead-weights with whom Barak Obama is surrounding himself. This man whom Mumia Abu-Jamal calls the pretty brown face of empire, will either be forced to demonstrate a brand of courage which so far is alien to him, or we will find a more worthy person in 2012.
None of these things will happen if all of you don't get involved.
Speaking of involvement, we're still waiting to hear from a couple billion of you regarding our dollar-per-person campaign. If each person who reads these thoughts, and those of other members, would send $1, this organization would become what the late John Coltrain would call "a force for good everywhere."
Lastly, I want to show you that Kalpulli is no recognizer of borders.
As of last night, February 8, a horrific tragedy was revealed in Canada. An individual by the name of Russel Williams was slated to become an Air Force general until it was revealed that he had murdered 2 young women and raped others.
Our organization rests on principles created almost 900 years ago on this continent. They constitute the Great Law of Peace. a cornerstone of the 6 Nations Confederacy. under that law a male offender could be executed for rape or treason. It is my hope that Russel Williams will either spend the rest of his life being examined to figure out why he's a monster, or he will be put to death.
One of his victims was 27. Rather than dwelling on the morbid & the sensational, let us re-sensitize ourselves by asking: what was young Jessica Lloyd doing with her life, and what could she have done, had she lived? For over 20 years, I have wanted to see the making of a documentary on young women crime victims. NOT for the blood and gore, but celebrating their lives and what they could have done. We already know what happened to them. Dear people, it is high time we rubbed society's nose in this reality as part of the strategy for its reinvention
Canada and the US are artificial nation-states founded upon the same flaws and hang-ups. While it is true that the Canadians do some things far better than we do, they too have fatal flaws. So let's start the ball rolling.
